In 2004, Tim founded Sandhill Investment Management in Buffalo, NY. Beginning as a small group of research professionals inspired by a common desire to create something better, Sandhill has since grown into a nationally recognized investment management firm with over $2.2 billion in assets under management and advisement as of December 31, 2024. Tim was the lead portfolio manager at Sandhill from 2004 – 2024 and currently serves as an investment advisor to his clientele.

Tim received his B.A. from Yale University in 1982 before earning his MBA from Boston University in 1991 and graduating with highest honors. Tim joined investment advisor and broker-dealer Harold C. Brown & Co. in 1995 as a Senior Equity Analyst. He was then promoted to Director of Research in 1996 before being elevated to Vice President in 1998 and Portfolio Manager in 2000.

Active in the local Western New York community, Tim served as a trustee of the Nichols School from 2008 – 2015. He was vice chair of the board from 2012 – 2014 and also chaired the Nichols Endowment Committee. He received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from Nichols School in 2019. Tim served as Dean (President) of the Saturn Club in 2019. Tim co-chaired the Westminster Church Capital Campaign from 2020 – 2023. He also served on the board of the Elmwood Franklin School, the Westminster Church, the Buffalo Tennis and Squash Club, and the Zoological Society of Buffalo.
