Co-Managing Partner, Chief Equity Analyst

Shortly after receiving his undergraduate degree, Rick joined Sandhill in 2010 as an Equity Analyst. He was named Partner at the start of 2014, was elevated to Chief Equity Analyst in 2016, and became Co-Managing Partner in 2023. Rick is also a CFA® charterholder, having earned his designation in 2013.

In his current position as Chief Equity Analyst, Rick leads all day-to-day activity among Sandhill’s four-man Research team and is the primary manager of the firm’s proprietary large-cap equity portfolio. A passionate researcher, his love for deep-rooted analysis has played a pivotal role in helping Sandhill discover valuable investment opportunities to add to its portfolios. Not only does Rick play an important role in making prudent investment decisions, but he also contributes to the firm’s long-term strategic planning efforts.

Today, Rick remains actively involved in the CFA Society of Buffalo, having recently completed his four-year term as the organization’s President. He introduced a Financial Literacy program to Say Yes to Education Buffalo, a program that supports inner-city economic development by providing grants to students to help cover the cost of their college education. In addition, Rick engages with and supports high-achieving students in the Golden Griffin Fund, a student-run, real-money investment fund offered through Canisius University’s Wehle School of Business.

Rick received his B.S. in Economics and Finance from Canisius University in 2010. He graduated summa cum laude and received the Nelson D. Civello Award, a distinction given annually to the most outstanding graduate in the Economics and Finance department.

Rick and his wife, Veronica, reside in North Buffalo with their four children.
