John joined the Sandhill team in October 2023 as an Investment Advisor. In his role, John partners with individuals, families, and institutional clients by providing investment advice and guidance to help them achieve their financial goals. He leverages over 18 years of industry experience to deliver thoughtful and effective investment solutions.
A Western New York native, John graduated from the University at Buffalo in 2004 after receiving his undergraduate degree in Accounting and Finance. In 2010, he earned his MBA in Finance from Canisius University.
For nearly 15 years, John worked as a Senior Vice President of Municipal Bond Sales at Roosevelt & Cross, servicing high-net-worth families as well as institutional accounts. Known as one of the top-ranked municipal bond underwriters in the Northeast, Roosevelt & Cross specialized in both tax-exempt and taxable municipal debt. In addition to his experience in bond sales, John also spent portions of his professional career at M&T Bank as a Banking Officer and at Citi Investment Research as an Equity Research Associate.
Within the local community, John serves as a board member of the Terese Kelley Investment Group—a student-run, real-money investment fund at the University at Buffalo. He has also previously volunteered as a community advisor for the Food Bank of WNY and a trustee at the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural National Historic Site.
Outside of work, John is a private pilot and enjoys flying to new destinations up and down the East coast. He lives in Snyder with his wife, Kathryn, and three growing sons, Nolan, Luke, and William.
