Brian Dillon, AIFA, ChFC

Investment Advisor, Retirement Plan Fiduciary

Brian grew up in Buffalo and graduated from Nichols School in 1976. After receiving his B.A. from Syracuse University, Brian began his career in financial services with New York Life Insurance Company in Portland, Maine. It was here where he earned the designations of Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant before becoming a Regional Vice President for NYLIFE Securities.

Returning to Buffalo in 1992, Brian joined Fleet Investment Services as a Vice President of Institutional Investments. He moved to Boston, Massachusetts, in 1997 to take a position as Regional Vice President with MFS Retirement Services, the 401(k) division of MFS Investment Management. In 2009, he founded Positive Retirement Outcomes, LLC, providing fiduciary and investment advisory services to employers with 401(k) plans. Not only did Brian earn the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designation in 2009, but he received the more advanced Accredited Investment Fiduciary Analyst® (AIFA®) designation in 2010.

Brian joined the Sandhill team in 2019 and continues working with retirement plans in addition to helping individuals, families, and foundations prudently manage their critical long-term liquid assets.

Brian and his wife live outside of Boston, Massachusetts, close to their two married children and three grandchildren. He has given his time to numerous not-for-profit boards in the fields of education, healthcare, and conservation. Brian currently serves on the Emeritus Board of Ducks Unlimited, Inc., which preserves and protects more than 14 million acres of wetland habitat across North America.
